Do I have to compete in Invention Convention to

access the curriculum? 

No! The curriculum is free for educators regardless of if they compete or not.

What grade levels does the Invention Convention curriculum cover?

Invention convention curriculum has lessons for inventors from grades K-12.

What grade levels can compete in the Invention Convention competition?

Inventors in grades K-12 can compete at the Invention Convention competition. 

 

Do I have to submit a working invention?

No, you do not need a working invention, prototypes and models are accepted! Your model can be simple, and does not require any technology or building skills.

 

What is required to participate in the Maine Invention Convention?

Students will need to submit their inventions/prototypes, the Invention Logbook, and a tri-fold poster. Guidelines and rubrics for each of these are on the resources page. *Students who win at the state competition will also need to create a video presentation for National judging.

Can students participate in teams?

Yes students can participate in teams. It is recommended that students work in teams of four or fewer.

Is there a registration fee?

No, it is free to register for the Maine Invention Convention. **If an inventor is invited to US Nationals, there will be a fee that is determined by the team at The Henry Ford.
